Hi Everyone
I am starting a little project to gain some statistics on the expected return on investment (ROI) when playing speed 3$ SNG's on partypoker. My first goal is to play 100 SNG's with standard ABC poker adopted to the blinds structure in the speed SNG's. Basically this means I will play tight during the first few levels and then loosen up later. I will regularly post updates in this thread. So far I have played 11 SNG's and I am break even (ROI = 0% ).More detailed statistics to come.... Mark member of the PokerBRB team |

Hi Everone
I just realized today that the rake on Partypoker's 3$ Speed SNG's is a whopping 33%, which means that 1$ of my 3$ buyin goes to Partypoker. I have no hopes to beat this rake, so I am pulling the plug on my Party 3$ Speed SNG project, and will start a new project at either CelebPoker or SunPoker (rumours have it that their rake on small stakes SNG's is only 10%). Here are my Final statistics from my Partypoker project: SNG's played: 11 1st places (12$ prize): 2 2nd places (7,2$ prize):0 3rd places (4,8$ prize): 3 My total revenues amounted to 38,4$ My total expenses were 33$ (of which 11$ was rake )This gives me a ROI of ((38,4-33)/33)*100% = 16% This is actually not that bad, but I seriously doubt I could have maintainted this ROI over 100 SNG's due to the large rake.

Hi Everyone
Here is a short update on my SNG project. It is indeed short since I haven't yet played any SNG's at either Celeb Poker or Sun Poker. I plan on depositing later this afternoon and start playing. I have however taken two seriously under-rolled 10$ stabs at 0,25-0,5$ No limit cash games on my Partypoker account. I like to do this from time to time simply for the fun of it. From a bankroll point of view I do not recommend to follow in my footsteps .Anyways the end result from my two short sessions was a profit of 30$ ![]() On one table I was all in preflop with JJ against 2xAK, which I won. On the other table I raised 7xx BB with AK, hit a King on the flop and watched my opponent try to bluff his way to win the pot with A9.....he did not succeed.

Hi Everyone
So I just deposited 20€ into my CelebPoker account, and selected which SNG's I will be playing, namely the 3€+0,3€ (corresponding to 10% rake ) 10 person NL HoldEm Speed SNG's.Unfortunately for some reason these SNG's are not available for joining at the moment. The only 3€ SNG's available are the 20 person NL HoldEm SNG's, which I do not want to play. This sucks, so I will log on later and check if things have changed. By the way a 20€ bankroll is seriously under rolled for 3€ SNG's. Really to play these SNG's you need a Bankroll around 100xBuyin (corresponding to 300€) to deal with the swings you will experience. However, I am optimistic my project will go well despite my mini bankroll.

Apparantly CelebPoker are experiencing software problems. The 3€ SNG's will be available again tomorrow. Hope to give you some fresh stats soon....

Hi
My great project start has now turned into a regular downswing. I have played 2 more SNG's, and finished 6th and 4th. The 6th place was just plain old stupid. For some reason I belived my A3 to be good on a AK8 board....even after I was reraised. After some thought I ended up calling the reraise...pot odds, needed to go to the toilet...bla bla bla. My opponent turned 88 for the set, and I was toast. My 4th place was justified. All in preflop with KJ and massive blinds against JJ. I hit my king, but my opponent caught a flush on the turn. Oh well, can't win them all. My Updated status is: 1st places: 1 4th places: 1 6th places: 1

Right, I am now officially too tired to play any more poker tonight. I did quite well in my last two SNG's, so my statistics are now:
1st places: 1 2nd places:2 3rd places: 1 4th places: 1 6th places: 1 Total revenue: 19,2€ My goal is still to play 100 SNG's, so I had better get a move on. For your information I finished just out of the money in the 8000$ guaranteed speed tournament at Party Poker. Actually I don't really know why I play these speed tournaments since they are more lottery than poker. I exited with a 20000 chips stack and blinds 10000/20000 . I guess I hope to get lucky one day.

I have only played a few SNG's since my last update. I am currently mad about an annoying hand that meant I exited in 7th place (KK vs A10 allin preflop, A on river need I say more) Never play poker when you are mad, so I will call it a night.
Current update: 1st places: 2 2nd places:2 3rd places: 1 4th places: 1 6th places: 1 7th places:1 Total revenue: 27,6€
